The Trust’s focus is local, but it is flexible globally.

Who were the Hausers?

George & Louise Hauser lived in Newton, MA for decades and were strong supporters of the local community through social justice, education, and equality of opportunity organizations. Louise was a lifelong teacher and George was a researcher, professor, and Purple Heart recipient. Each year the trust allocates hundreds of thousands of dollars to charity in their name.

“It is a priority of the founders to provide 1) seed funding to new organizations and new programs of existing organizations and 2) grants to organizations that have as their main goal helping people help themselves. The founders request that these organizations be located in Newton, Brookline, Cambridge, and areas of close proximity.”
